Eric Ngalle Charles was born in Buea, Cameroon. Because of risks in his native country, he left Cameroon and paid human traffickers to go to Malta, ending finally in Russia because of a wrong visa. He spent three years in Stavropol and Sochi, learnt the Russian language and decided to fly to Britain.
Eric is a poet, a dramatist and a novelist. He helps recent refugees arriving in Cardiff to use writing to overcome the trauma of being displaced. Eric runs Black Entertainment Wales, an Arts organisation that provides a platform for artists in the Black and Minority Ethnic communities to showcase their work.
He doesn’t explain his life in details because one of his main projects is publishing his memoirs, focusing on his refugee life and writer experience, later in 2017 or in 2018.
